WoF Scholarship Fund
The WoF Beneficiary Scholarship Fund provides resources to WoF fire fighters to pursue further formal training which will improve their skills, knowledge and employability.
Some 84 former fire fighters have already progressed up the ranks of the WoF structure into management and administration roles. However, the funding from the WoF Programme cannot always cover extended further studies. The WoF Scholarship Fund, through internal and external funding, provides the financial opportunities for chosen wildland fire fighters to study towards a diploma, degree or even a pilots license.
The fund is managed by a committee consisting of former fire fighters and programme managers, chaired by the executive chairman of FFA Operations. All contributors to the WoF Beneficiary Fund will receive annual statements on the utilisation of funds and beneficiary progress.
Contributions to this fund will greatly enhance the ability of the beneficiaries to improve their skills and knowledge and in so doing improve their employment opportunities and the contribution they can make to their communities.
